be fruitful and multiply

thinking about what "business" is, in its essence, and why im so drawn to it
it has nothing to do with money
it is the beautiful mechanism of leveraging raw materials or a "seed" of sorts to obtain a result, the value of which is more than simply the sum of its parts

I believe the factor of that leverage is divine.

you told us to be fruitful 
to MULTIPLY

so when a man and a woman are joined together and produce a life

when a gardener plants a seed which grows into something delightful, useful or edible

when fiber is collected, spun and woven or knitted into cloth

when timber is built into a house

when metal is extracted and shaped into a machine

we are doing what we were divinely ordained to do

commerce should, in its purest form, just make it convenient and efficient for us to exchange the fruits of our labour for the fruits of someone else's

but in it's corrupted and perverted form, it has become a means of exhaustative extraction and the exploitation of creation and our fellow creators
